New school,  so YoungMan gets to wear a school uniform for the first time.  Holy cow,  someone in the independent sector is coining it - £95.50 for a blazer,  for a 7 year old?  Really?  I don’t spend that kind of money on _my_ clothes!  Not to mention,  what kind of idiot puts a 7 year old _boy_ in dry clean only garments???

Oh well,  at least he looks cute in it and I’m hoping to sell the blazer through the second hand shop at school once he outgrows it,  so we should at least get some of that back…  to set off against the price of the next one!

He has had a couple of wobbly moments in his first few days,  but those seem to be settling down and YoungMan has already been issued with a demerit!!! On questioning,  MrsMiniskirt (his new teacher is rather glam) said that she wanted to set high standards for discipline to make the classroom a pleasant environment - I know my sister will agree! - and poor YoungMan was the first to transgress so got clobbered to set an example.  Foggy said “Ah,  he took a team yellow”,  which sounds about right.

I’m actually quite pleased with that,  weird as it might sound… YoungMan works a lot harder for people with high expectations,  and so it is proving.  His handwriting in class on Wednesday was waaaaaay better than anything he’d have done for his teacher last year.  Long may that continue!
